Big Handle

Big Handle

After creating another small handle, I decided to make this one to replace a broken handle on an equipment box I had. It could be used on anything that needs a large, sturdy handle. The handle is a single piece that prints easily; just hold the base and grasp the handle to break it free. For added strength, I chose 50% infill, but you can use 100% or less depending on the weight of what you're lifting. Like my other handle, this one uses supports (I set supports to 30% fill with Simplify3D), and once you break it free, moving the handle back and forth will cause the support parts to fall out, or you can use needle-nose pliers to remove them. This large handle measures 4 inches by 6 inches, so you can scale it as needed. Modify it as you see fit. Print settings: Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: .20 Infill: 50% Notes: A raft makes removal easier due to the large surface area on the table. Printed in ABS at 235C and a bed temperature of 100C. Post-printing instructions: Rotate the handle to break it free, then continue rotating to break free supports inside between the handle and the base. I designed this handle using 123D Design, processed it with Simplify3D, and printed it.
