The Full Scale Big Goron Sword from the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is an impressive replica that measures 5' 1" in length. Its simplicity makes it easy to assemble, requiring only a long 3/4" wooden dowel inserted through the center holes from a standard supply store. This sturdy dowel significantly enhances durability and allows for effortless swinging without breakage. The handle sleeves are elliptical in shape, ensuring accurate edge alignment when gripping, so make sure they face the correct direction. Glue the pieces together once aligned, then build up the stack using the dowel as the core. Printing at high strength settings (1.2mm shell, 0.2mm layer height) takes approximately 32 hours, while lower strength settings (0.8 mm shell and 3% infill) can complete in under 24 hours. For optimal results, print with smaller layer heights to achieve smoother surfaces and a more even finish, ideal for painting. To add extra strength and smoothness to the surface, apply an epoxy resin coating is highly recommended.
