Big Drinking Bird
thingiverse
The original text features a scanned and enlarged drinking bird; its head, body, and feet were all scanned with a Makerbot scanner while other parts were designed to match. A video tutorial is available at http://youtu.be/tY15ce2sUyE and detailed instructions can be found on http://www.instructables.com/id/Big-Drinking-Bird/. To replicate this, print the head and body at approximately 350% size. The acrylic neck tube is 1 1/4 inch OD, two feet long. For the legs, use 1 x 2 oak, a four-foot section with a 1 1/8 inch hole drilled in the center, and cut in the center of the circle so they slide into the base piece. The head and body are mounted using a small screw drilled at the back side.
