Big drill box 0.4 - 10 mm
thingiverse
I needed a box that could accommodate all my drill bits, so I took matters into my own hands and designed one from scratch. For the lid, I drew inspiration from this clever design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2610254. I put it to the test beforehand and was pleased to find it closed snugly - not too tight and not too loose. To achieve the diverse colors, I manually added some M600 filament codes into the g-code. For the lids, there were two crucial points for filament changes: at 0.6 and 1.2 mm, while for the boxes, four key moments were marked: 56.8, 57.8, 61.8, and 62.8 mm. This was all done with a layer height of 0.2 mm. In my own print (check out the photo), I encountered an issue where the text on the side ended up being a bit too high, resulting in a colored line through the text. Thankfully, this was addressed in the final design that I'm sharing here. I always appreciate it when people leave all the individual elements of a design intact within the STL file. This makes it significantly easier to adapt the design to your own needs or reuse the various components. You can use the raw STL file for exactly this purpose. The dimensions of this thing come in at approximately 13 x 14 x 5 cm.
