Big DIY 3D Printer 2 This 3D printer is a major upgrade of the Big DIY 3D Printer. I decided to make a new version because I changed so much. The idea behind this printer is to make it with materials you already have to keep it affordable. A 3D printer is essentially an X, Y, and Z axis setup. This model features an X and Y axis that can be raised as high as needed, allowing for larger prints on the Z axis. I used extruded aluminum lengths (30x33mm) and 608Z bearings to create my Z axis, which you can also find in the included files if you want to replicate it. The X and Y axes can be made as long as desired, using 10mm gliding rods. Here's a list of parts needed for the X, Y, and Hot End setup: * 6x F625ZZ bearing wheels * 6x 623Z bearings * 4x LM10UU/SP linear bearings * 4x SCS10UU linear bearings * 4x 10mm gliding rods of various lengths * 3x Nema 17 Stepper Motors * 3x Timing belt pulleys and matching timing belts * 2x End Switches * Bowden Extruder Setup * Hot End & wires Additionally, you'll need the following for the Z axis setup: * 16x 608ZZ bearings * 1x end switch * 16x M8 bolts or threaded rods with nuts * 2x spindles and spindle nuts or M8 threaded rods with nuts * 2x stepper Nema 17 motors * 2x motor to spindle connectors (5mm to 8mm) * 6x M4x40mm bolts * 6x M4 nuts * 8x M3x10mm bolts * Optional: 8x M3x20mm bolts and nuts For the controller, you'll need: * 1x Arduino Mega * 1x Ramps 1.4 board and Full Graphic Smart Controller * 6x stepper drivers (A4988 or DRV8825) * 1x 12V/240W power supply * 1x opto coupler and FET for switching the heat bed * 1x fan to cool the drivers The blue and green parts were printed in PET-G with a resolution of 0.2mm.
