Big Clip with Mount
thingiverse
This is a simple attachment that can be mounted to something. The mount itself is a basic component that likely will require adhesion, such as glue or tape, or fasteners like screws, to attach it to another object. If desired, this design can also be integrated into another 3D printed part. I created this attachment because I needed a clip to attach my phone to a holder and finally designed it: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2434139 The clip itself employs a standard 32mm binder (also known as bulldog) clip, which provides the necessary tension. It is held together by an M4x40 screw and a locknut. To attach this clip to the mount, you will need an M4x50 screw. Printer Settings Brand: RepRap Printer: prusa v2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 10 Notes: You must print both clips with support. The plastic is more flexible when printed on the side, so they need to be printed in that orientation. The mount doesn't require any support. Post-Printing Assembly Once you have printed the top and bottom clip, slide in the binder clip to hold them together. Next, you can insert an M4 screw to permanently secure everything. It is worth noting that the sides of the mount prevent the binder clip from sliding out. Without it, the binder clip is held in place solely by friction. How I Designed This All design work was done using FreeCAD v0.16 and I have included the source files. Some of the files were created by combining parts from other files to see how they would fit together. The CAD files are not the best because I simply threw them together, but at least you can see how everything was designed.
