A Custom Design Based on Big Clive's Crystal Project.\r\n\r\nThe crystals/spires are printed in vase mode with four bottom layers. Printing takes approximately one and a half hours at a speed of 50mm/s and a layer height of 0.2mm. The design can be scaled up or down along the Z-axis to suit individual preferences.\r\n\r\nThe base of the project is somewhat challenging to print, requiring it to be printed upside down to avoid using supports. However, due to its steep angle, this approach may not always yield optimal results. In my case, I managed to achieve a decent outcome by printing the inner walls first, although some minor imperfections remained. In one instance, I had to use tape as support, which was hardly noticeable given the abundance of crystals and the clear filament used. A layer height of 0.2mm may not be ideal; a lower setting of 0.12mm might produce better results. Printing the base alone takes around three and a half hours at 50mm/s with a 0.2mm layer height, assuming supports are avoided.\r\n\r\nIf you decide to scale the design in XY, keep in mind that the led holes will be 5.5mm in diameter.\r\n\r\nFor those interested in wiring diagrams, I recommend checking out the following video by the YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orOaQHuhr2g&t=560s\r\n\r\nIn my version, I utilized slow color-changing RGB LEDs that operate at a maximum of 3.2V and 0.2mA. To drive these LEDs, I used a series resistor with a resistance value of 40ohms, which allows for maximum brightness when powered by a 5V supply. However, please note that this setup may be too bright for certain environments; you can easily adjust the brightness by using a larger resistor. For internal wiring, I employed "memory wire" and encourage others to get creative with their hidden art designs.
