Big Ben Westminster - London
sketchfab
Big Ben is the iconic nickname for the Great Bell of the clock perched at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, also frequently extended to refer to the clock and the magnificent clock tower. The clock tower itself is officially known as Elizabeth Tower, renamed with great fanfare to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II in 2012; previously it was simply called the Clock Tower. This iconic tower proudly holds the second largest four-faced chiming clock in the world, after Minneapolis City Hall. Constructed in 1859, the tower marked its remarkable 150th anniversary on May 31st, 2009, during which grand celebratory events took place throughout the city. As one of the most recognizable symbols of the United Kingdom, Big Ben is often featured prominently in establishing shots of films set in London.
