Big Ben

Big Ben gets its nickname from the Great Bell inside the Palace of Westminster's clock at the north end in London, also referring to the clock and tower. The official name for this tower is Elizabeth Tower, renamed to honor Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee before 2012, when it was just known as Clock Tower. This tower houses the world's biggest four-faced chiming clock and stands as the third-tallest free-standing clock tower in existence. Completed in 1858, Big Ben had its 150th birthday on May 31st, 2009, with many events taking place to celebrate. It has become one of the UK's most recognizable symbols and is often featured at the start of films set in London. Originally scanned by ScanTheWorld!
