Big Ball Fidget Spinner
thingiverse
I began experimenting with the Tri Fidget Spinner Toy by replacing the original bearing sets for the weights with some spare 5/8" ball bearings that had been left over from the castors of a robot. These additional ball bearings added considerable mass to the spinner, allowing them to rotate freely within their housing and providing an extra fidget activity in addition to spinning. To install these new bearings, I heated the body of the spinner with a hair dryer or hot air gun and then pressed them into place. It's essential to avoid overheating the plastic, as this can cause it to warp and become misshapen. In addition to modifying the weights, I also designed the finger pads from scratch. After trying out several different designs, none of which met my expectations, I decided to create something entirely new that would better suit my needs.
