Big A$$ Filament Guide
pinshape
Summary The Big A$$ Filament Guide is designed as an adapter to the Replicator + Spool Holder (New and Improved). This innovative creation became a fun way to guide filament from a spool up to my machine. I purchased some semi-opaque 1/4" tubing from a big-box hardware store to help prevent kinks, and threaded it up to print-head. It works perfectly. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator+ Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 200 microns Infill: 30% Notes: I always print with a raft (I know, shun me now). I used supports because the guide hole-way needed to attach it to the spool holder. 200 microns and 30% is good; even though, 30% infill is probably overkill. This spool holder accessory reeks of overkill, that's what makes it fun. Post-Printing The filament guide halves pin together with the pegs included with the halves. The pegs are a tight fit in diameter due to the holes, as I wanted a good fit since I wasn't going to use any glue. It assembles easily. See the included images for details.
