Biface. XCB-105-3666. 400 BCE-100 CE XCB-105 Adamagan, an Aleut village situated at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula, boasts a massive scale with multiple occupations. As it stood from 400 BCE to 100 CE, Adamagan was the largest Arctic settlement with an estimated population of 1000 people. In addition, limited occupations dating back to 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE are also evident. Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts emerge from extensive research conducted under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner leads the investigation as Principal Investigator. These artifacts were meticulously scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Subsequent processing was carried out in Geomagic or Polyworks, with 2-8 photos utilized to create texture in Geomagic Wrap. Initial digitizing work took place at the IVL on Iditarod University's campus, while subsequent processing and publication were completed at Global Digital Heritage.
