Biface XCB-003-129\nXCB-003, or IZM-003, was thoroughly tested by A.P. McCartney in 1971. It serves as the type-site for the Izembek Phase. A small village with a unique whalebone house and many artifacts similar to those found in the Bristol Bay region exists there. Dating back approximately 1200-1350 CE, it may also be classified as an Adamagan Phase level, spanning from 400BCE-100CE.\nThe Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts resulted directly from research funded by grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the project as PI. These artifacts were scanned using a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Processed in Geomagic or Polyworks, 2-8 photos were used to create texture in Geomagic Wrap. The original digitizing work was done at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing and publication were completed at Global Digital Heritage.\nMcCartney's findings were published in APUA 16(1):59-84 in 1974, titled "Prehistoric Cultural Integration along the Alaska Peninsula." Maschner's research was later cited in Arctic Anthro. on January 1, 2004, vol. 41 no. 2, with a DOI of 10.1353/arc.2011.0007, covering pages 98-111.
