Biface Fragment. XCB-105-1922. 400 BCE-100 CE\nXCB-105 Adamagan, a prominent Aleut settlement, is situated atop Morzhovoi Bay, on the western Alaska Peninsula's rugged coast. At its peak, from 400 BCE to 100 CE, this massive village was home to approximately 1,000 inhabitants, making it the largest Arctic settlement at that time. Furthermore, archaeological evidence indicates limited occupations dating back to 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE.\nExcavations conducted under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411 have unearthed the Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts. These discoveries are a testament to the tireless efforts of H. Maschner, Principal Investigator, who spearheaded this research endeavor. The artifacts were meticulously scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i, with subsequent processing taking place in Geomagic or Polyworks. To recreate the authentic texture, 2-8 photographs were carefully integrated into Geomagic Wrap. The initial digitizing work was carried out at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., with subsequent refinement and publication completed at Global Digital Heritage.
