The Honeycomb Light System Consists Of Multiple Printable Components. These Include: Honeycomb Segments Equipped With A 10mm Wide LED Strip That Snap Onto Base Holders (Example Lamp: 9 Units). Basic Holder Segments, Including Segment 1 With A Guide Block (Example Lamp: 4 Units) And Segment 2 With Two Guide Blocks (Example Lamp: 3 Units). Cover Caps, Including Tab-Shaped Caps (Example Lamp: 9 Units) And Cuboid-Shaped Caps (Example Lamp: 10 Units). The Basic Holder Is Put Together By Means Of Guide Grooves And Corresponding Noses, Then Fixed With Adhesive Dissolved In Acetone. The Basic Form Can Vary Almost Arbitrarily. The Basic Holders Can Be Clicked Together On Either The Long Or Short Side, As Shown In This Example Where It Has A Cross-Shaped Design. Basic Holder Segments 1 And 2 Always Alternate When Put Together. Next, The Required Honeycomb Segments (In This Example, 9 Pieces) Are Equipped With An LED Light Band. The Tape Is Only Pressed Between The Two Guide Rails Without Glue. The LEDs Can Be Directed Outwards Or Inwards, Depending On Preference. In This Example, The Two Innermost Ones Face Inward And All Others Face Outward. As A Result, The Light Output Is Higher When LEDs Face Outward! To Shorten The LED Tape, Scissors Are Used At The "Allowed" Positions, Then Connected To A Twin Strand For Better Conductivity. The Cross-Section Of The Cable Should Be At Least 0.2mm2 For Smaller Lamps And More For Larger Ones. In This Example, A Ribbon Cable With Four Strands (Two Each For Positive And Negative 12V) Was Used. As An LED Strip, V-TAC "SMD 5730" Is Used, Which Produces 20-22 Lumens Per Chip. This Results In Approximately 900 Lumens Per Segment And A Total Of About 8000 Lm For The Entire Lamp. However, Due To Poor Transparency In ABS And Internal LED Elements, Some Light Is Lost. Despite This, The Lamp Remains Very Bright And Can Replace A Single 58 Watt Fluorescent Tube With Ease. The Holders Were Printed Using White ABS And The Honeycomb Segments With "Natural" ABS. When Clicking Together, Make Sure The Snap Tabs Fit Correctly. In Some Cases, You May Need To Rotate The Honeycomb Segment By 90 Degrees. The Cover Caps Are Printed In Your Choice Of Color (Here Green) But May Require Slight Reworking If They Are Stiff Or Do Not Hold Properly. In Such Cases, Glue Is Required For Fixing Them. For Larger Lamps, Power Must Be Connected From Both Sides Of The LED Strip To Function Properly. The Controller Was Mounted On A Shelf Near The Lamp And Only The 12V Supply Was Installed (Here Twin Wire With 2*0.75mm2).
