Bicycle Wheel Truing Jig
thingiverse
I enjoy riding my bike, particularly on the road. Unfortunately, the poor state of local roads necessitates frequent wheel truing. Since I don't own a stand or jig to make this process easier, I designed one myself. After discovering a design online, I realized that sourcing 1" tubing in Europe would be challenging. If you spot any errors, please notify me so I can correct them. Assembly ideas include using 30x30mm aluminum square tubes with 2mm walls for the uprights and clamping tube, both of which measure 300mm long. The threaded rods are all 8mm metric thread. The bracket that holds the wheel can be screwed into place or glued in securely. The marker holder is divided into two parts to facilitate easy printing; simply glue them together to assemble it. A hole through the knob prevents wobbling, as mentioned by Swolebro in his video. Future potential upgrades include adding a dial indicator mount, an openScad spacer generator, and smaller marker tips.
