I'm a member of the Pro Bike Mechanics Association (PBMA) and recently attended one of their tech workshops, where several bike companies shared valuable insights on their products and how to work on them. One of the cool things that DT Swiss handed out was a measuring stick for checking the width of a thru-axle hub, which I thought was brilliant, so I made my own version that can be 3D printed. I've got two versions: one is available in several different sizes: * Hub measuring stick + 148mm long version covering Boost and non-Boost hubs + 157mm long version covering the above and 150/157mm SuperBoost + 177mm long version covering the above and 170/177mm fat bike hubs + 197mm long version covering the above and 190/197mm fat bike hubs * Boost/Non-Boost measuring stick This one covers 100/110mm front hubs as well as 142/148mm rear hubs. **How to use this measuring stick** With the Boost/Non-Boost version, there are arrows corresponding to 100, 110, 142, and 148mm. The side marked with a "F" and "R" indicates non-Boost 100 and 142mm sizes, while the side marked "BOOST" represents Boost 110mm and 148mm sizes. Pass the stick through the hub, and see which arrow lines up with the end of the axle to determine its size. Note that it's the sides of the arrow you're lining up - check out the photos! For the standard version, there are text indications that may or may not print well. The cutouts start with "F" and correspond to the 100-110mm range for front hubs (non-Boost and Boost). Next is "R," which represents rear hubs in the 142-148mm non-Boost and Boost range, followed by a small 2mm gap to the 150-157mm SuperBoost width. The final two cutouts correspond to 170-177mm (narrower fat bike hubs) and 190-197mm (widest fat bike hubs). **Hub diameter checker** On the short end of the stick, there are three feelers for 12mm, 15mm, and 20mm thru-axle hubs. Simply insert the short end into the hub to see which one fits. See Print Settings for options on making the markings more visible.
