Mounting brackets are made to be stronger with thicker areas that are known to fail cheap Chinese bicycle red lights which have a habit of breaking easily. A copied but modified version of this bracket was created by adding more thickness in the most fragile sections where the original would typically fail. This modified holder has two different options: a standard size that is identical to the original and a smaller one. Original bike lights come equipped with rubber inserts allowing users to select their desired tube diameter. If rubber inserts are lost or not preferred, the smaller bracket version can be used without them making it easier to achieve a smaller tube diameter than the thicker standard option. Instructions must be followed when creating the bracket. A greater shell thickness is essential for avoiding breakage during assembly on the bike. When bent during mounting, thin areas are at risk of cracking under pressure.
