The mudguards of the cowboy bike are made of 4mm alloy and seem quite rigid. Maybe the rear one can be used for a small load carrier to hang quick lock bike bags onto? Best combination is with bags where you can adjust the distance between the holders - e.g. on several models from Ortlieb or Vaude. The carrier grips the mudguard firmly and can stay on the bike. It is lightweight and unexpensive to produce. When printed in a matching colour most people will not even recognize it as add-on. You can deter thiefs by putting on your name or symbol. You may even implement that before printing - just remix the design as you like. PLEASE DO NOT USE ON PREVIOUS COWBOY MODELLS. The construction of their rear mudguard is mechanically less stable and could break or fall off under load. You are kindly asked to see this as a fun experiment. Please do not take your effort or the results too seriously. To join the experiment you just need two prints of both items plus four wood screws of 3,5mm diameter or more. If you give this design a try please share your results. Does the carrier fall off or apart? Should the rod be placed higher or lower? - etc. Or just remix the enclosed IGES-source. The cover plate is a hack suggested by one of the early testers. A litte strip of double-sided adhesive tape - maybe 20x30mm - helps the carrier to stay in place. The plate covers the visible part of the tape to keep the all-black look. The hack is really simple: Mark the exact position the carrier should have on the rear mudguard. Then attach the adhesive tape with two thirds to the carrier and leave the protective foil on the remaining third. Mount the carrier to the mudguard and cover the sticking out third with the plate. If you need to remove the carrier just peel off the plate and pull on the adhesive tape. PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR THIS HACK THERE IS NO LONG TERM EXPERIENCE. The adhesive tape may even harm the mudguards paint. If the added adhesive tape is usefull but the cover tends to fall off easily there may be an additional version of the holder. There the cover will be part of the holder with a predetermined breaking point between them.
