Bicycle Cable Ferule - Crimpless Cable End
thingiverse
This is my take on a cable end or ferule that's crimpless. I use them to keep cable ends from fraying when they're in storage bins. This design has two parts - a collet that slides over the cable end, and then a housing that compresses it and holds it in place. It's sized to work with both shift and brake cables. These protectors can be used to prevent the end of the cable from fraying while on a bike too. However, they're larger than crimp-on types. I've added built-in supports for each piece - this helps maintain detail on the leading edge. Just snip off the support with a razor blade (or twist it off) after printing is complete.
