Bicycle 12mm Thru-Axle support for packing bicycle

2018-03-15 Secured a M12 nut to a 142mm long, 18mm OD, 12mm x 142mm rod. Packing your bicycle for air transport may necessitate supporting the thru-axle or QR where the wheel hubs used to be. This support will provide a more rigid frame, especially if you have a carbon frame. I created these supports for 12mm thru-axles with 100mm front and 142mm back lengths. The 142mm is split into two pieces of 71mm each, joined by a coupler nut using M18 threads. If there's interest, I can also make them for QR or other axles later. However, if you need a 12mm thru-axle brace, try this next time your bike has to travel on a plane. I included a version with a 12-tooth sprocket that you can use if you don't remove your RD hanger. FWIW, I always recommend removing the RD hanger as it's fragile and prone to breaking easily.
