BICky Ball

BICky Ball

thingiverse

A pen cap item, inspired by Thingiverse, forms geometric shapes like truncated icosahedra and dodecahedra. Assembling 180 parts creates a "BICky ball," while 60 parts form a dodecahedron (pictured). However, the large BICky ball needed support from an upside-down mini-trampoline. The creator showcased the shapes and connectors in a YouTube video, highlighting compatibility with Lego small ball joint parts. This pen cap was made using CNC milled aluminum molds for injection molding polypropylene. Due to the pen cavity and connecting feature, two removable inserts were needed in the aluminum mold.
