BI V2.5 Replacement top plate, spool holder and extruder mount
thingiverse
The perspex top plate on my printer broke, and here's the drawing I created that moves the spool holder inside the printer above the delta arms. This design also provides mounts to move the extruder steppers much closer to the print head, considerably shortening the bowden tube length. I'd like to thank Rob for his help in creating the initial drawing. **Instructions:** Get this drawing cut out from a 2 or 3mm aluminium plate (suggested method: water cutting). To connect the spool holder to the top plate, use a 6M4 screw and nut. Depending on how many hot ends you have, you will need 1-3 rods with M6 thread for the spool holder. Next, relocate the bowden steppers to the bottom of the bracket. Please note that this assumes you have already installed the EZStruder mount made by clefranc (available on Thingiverse as #672280). To secure the new plate to the top of your printer, use existing screws from the top plate.
