Bi-Fold Door Toddler Lock

Bi-Fold Door Toddler Lock

thingiverse

This is a sliding lock designed to prevent young children from opening bi-fold doors by easily sliding over the hinged area to secure the door. The inside depth of the slider is 30.5mm, making it suitable for fitting onto my doors that are approximately 29mm thick. I'm pleased to report that it works extremely well. UPDATE: A variation without a handle has been added, allowing the lock to be printed standing upright without support to increase its strength along the axis that bears the most stress. Print Settings: Rafts: No rafts required Supports: Yes, necessary for stability Resolution: 0.2mm - 0.3mm for optimal print quality Infill: 0.4 for moderate density and weight Notes: I used a few small supports to secure the handle, but the lock can be printed without them if desired (though it may not look as polished).
