Bi-Fold Door Closer

We've been in our house for several years and the bi-fold door in front of the dryer has been a constant source of frustration. Every time it's left open, it blocks the garage door, making it impossible to get into the house from the garage. Most of the time we manage to remember to close it when we're done with it, but occasionally we forget and it causes problems. The bi-fold door gets jammed in the track every time someone tries to open the garage door, mangling the track pretty badly. The door closer pivot catch piece hangs down between the doors to prevent them from being opened all the way, which is essential to keep the slider away from the damaged portion of the track. We've tried to fix it several times but it always seems to get worse.
