Bi-directional Mechanical Counter
thingiverse
This bi-directional, single-digit base-10 mechanical counter requires attaching strings to its ratchet pulling arms and connecting them with a rubber band around an M3 bolt on the zero_detect_frame block. Print two copies of the ratchet_pulling_arms and one of each other piece; 693 bearings are used in the string_pulley and zero_detect_arm, while 623 bearings are for ratchet_gear and the front of the zero_detect_arm. A spring (or rubber band) should connect the hook on the zero_detect_arm to the same screw as the pulling arms' rubber band. A 1/4" diameter spring, .3" long, forces the ratchet_detent_arm into place. Secure everything with M3 nuts and bolts, allowing you to increment or decrement the counter by pulling on either string.
