Bezel for 40mm Arcade Button
thingiverse
I purchased several large 40mm arcade buttons to replace standard buttons. The mounting hole diameter for these buttons measures 25mm. They come equipped with a mounting ring that holds the button above the surface, providing space for the button to travel, and I didn't want to drill a 40mm hole with a keyway to mount it flat on the surface. The first blue button image shows what I mean. I wasn't fond of the vertical ring, as it was taller than necessary. I designed a slanted bezel that follows and extends the existing bevel of the button, which I believe looks better. Additionally, you can set filament-change commands in your slicer to create concentric color rings in the bezel. I attached some red vinyl to a scrap board with a 30mm hole to demonstrate how these buttons look installed. I included two bushings that have proven useful. While you can mount these 24mm buttons in a 28-30mm hole, they tend to swim around in the hole. You can use one of the bushings to reduce an existing hole size to 25mm, which fits this button perfectly. Simply feed it in from the back and finish with the included nut. I also included a 28mm bushing in case your existing hole is drilled slightly smaller. They will fit boards as thin as 1/2" - I use mine on a 3/4" MDF panel. Furthermore, I included a slightly different bezel that reduces the bevel angle just a little, resulting in a base diameter that's a bit smaller. This could save some room on a crowded control panel. This one is identified by "narrow" in its name.
