Beware of Dog - Warning Sign
prusaprinters

Hi there,
here is a "Beware of Dog" sign in two versions. One according to DIN ISO 7010 and another one with a comedic twist. The later is highly inspired by the design of DannyH5173 (link below). What I changed is: I made it independent from language and I tried to recreate a real dog bite, based on a real dog mandible.

Feel free to leave me some feedback in the comments and please let me see your prints.

Design:

So I went out to look for scanned dog jaws and found embodi3d.com, which offers excactly that. The poor dog had a fracture and was scanned because of that. Emodi3D offers a free tool for creating 3D models from medical DICOM Data. I cleaned the model in Meshmixer, meaning I removed everything but the upper jaw (mandible) and tried to make a boolean cut with the sign. This way it would look like a real dog took a bite of the sign. For some reason though, it would always generate a fatal error, independet of the settings I used. I tried it many times, the calculation always took long and resulted in that error. Eventhough I ran the inspector several times and closed all mesh errors. Therefore I just took a snapshot of the jaw (in Meshmixer) and imported it to Fusion360 as a canvas. Here I traced the teeth and jaw with a point spline and made an extrude cut, from the sign. For both signs (with and without the bite) I'll upload the .f3d and step files, so you can change the signs as you like (for example change the size of the bite or make the signs thicker).

For the warning sign itself I just downloaded the .svg file and extruded the profiles in Fusion360.

The colorchange for printing is added in the .3mf files

Links:

Source of the warning sign.
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:ISO\_7010\_safety\_signs\_%28vector\_drawings%29

Inspired by:
DannyH5173
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3978328

Scandata:
https://www.embodi3d.com/files/file/39171-dog-mandibular-fractures-and-maxillary-fracture-stl-file-processed/

How to change color:
https://www.help.prusa3d.com/en/article/color-change\_1687

How to insert .svg in Fusion360:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-import-SVG-files-in-Fusion-360.html

Print Settings

Filament:

Das-Filament PLA

Notes:

printed on Prusa Mini, see the .3mf files for the detailed print settings
