Bevel Angle Gauges for Sharpening

Bevel Angle Gauges for Sharpening

There are numerous bevel gauges available at very affordable prices, covering a limited selection of bevel angles commonly found on various tools. However, every now and then, you'll encounter a chisel or plane blade with an entirely unique bevel angle, leaving you struggling to determine its exact measurement. Given that these unusual bevels are typically quite small, using protractors becomes a frustrating task. This is precisely why bevel gauges exist. To better cover the range of quickly measurable angles than commonly available bevel gauges, I designed this set to span 5° to 90° in 2.5° increments. This allows you to swiftly and accurately check bevel angles, ensuring your sharpening jigs and aids are correctly set. The gauges measure 5 by 10cm and stand at 6mm thick, providing a solid seating for various chisels and plane blades. Each gauge features a 1cm diameter hole in the corner, facilitating easy storage options such as hanging on a nail or hook, threading onto a chain or string, or other creative solutions. If you prefer gauges of a thinner profile, I can easily modify my files to produce 2-3mm thin versions. Simply leave a comment if you're interested in this modification or have any other requests for changes.
