Skilled horsemen by trade, the Betyárs were infamous outlaws and highwaymen who terrorized 18th and 19th century Hungary. Their daring exploits have cemented their legendary status, with many in the public eye portraying them as champions of social justice. Even today, their iconic curly mustache and traditional hat remain an integral part of Hungarian folklore.
