While strong enough for some cases, large surface area parts with high FEP suction forces have caused print failures from flex plates shifting or detaching entirely. With 8x Neodymium magnets, BetterFlex is much stronger than the competition, reducing the number of print failures you may have. BetterFlex is designed to match the original build plate dimensions as closely as possible. No modification to the Z-Axis limit switch is required. Simply replace your existing build surface and re-level the bed. Complete detaching of plate – occurs when single layer cross section covers >80% of the available build surface (magnet has enough strength to recover the plate, but will lead to #2) Plate shifting – occurs on large flat prints >60% of the build surface or large hollow(un-vented) parts. Seemingly independent of magnet strength. The stronger magnets allowed case 1 to be somewhat mitigated, allowing for larger size prints before complete detaching vs regular magnet. However, stronger magnets exhibited similar plate shifting effects as regular magnets.
