Better Hold Down for Printinz on Simple Metal
thingiverse
I fabricate two lengths of aluminum, each measuring 2 inches by one-half inch by one-eighth inch in thickness. A hole with a diameter of one-eighth inch is carefully drilled into the center of each length. The existing center hexagons are removed from the Simple Metal, and longer ones leftover from the kit are inserted as a replacement. This approach allows for effective holding down of prints using this method. Once I complete a print job, I simply use an allen wrench to loosen the holding mechanism and easily slide out the plate.
