Betta house (wip)
thingiverse
I'm excited to try my hand at design! Don't worry if it's rough around the edges - I'm just starting out. Betta fish are natural explorers, so they need plenty of space to swim and hide. Hopefully, this design will work as intended once I print it out. To add some extra depth, I've included a small house on top for low-lying plants like baby's tears or hair grass. This will give the betta fish a cozy spot to rest and observe their surroundings. One thing that would take this design to the next level is adding a lattice pattern at the bottom for waste removal. This way, any uneaten food or debris can be easily scooped up without disturbing the fish. If you plan on using this design in an aquarium, it's essential to use a safe and non-toxic material like PLA or PETG. These plastics won't alter the water parameters or leech any toxins into the tank, keeping your fish healthy and happy. *Edit* I've added a second file with a modified version of the design that doesn't include legs - instead, it features tunnels for a basic suction cup that can be found at most dollar stores. With a 24mm diameter and some crazy glue, this little device can be attached to the wall for betta fish enjoyment. For optimal water flow and waste removal, I've also added a lattice pattern underneath the design. This will help keep the tank clean and healthy for your finned friends!
