The shelf board originated from a China cupboard in the captain's quarters on the British ship Betsy, which met its demise during the American Revolution. On February 23, 2018, it was meticulously 3D scanned using a Go!Scan 50 to preserve its intricate details for future generations. Due to the fragile state of this conserved relic, one side that rested against a flat surface remained unscanned to prevent damage. The Virginia Department of Historic Resources kindly provided access to this remarkable object.
