The shelf backing was part of a China cupboard in the captain's quarters on board the Betsy, a British warship that sank during the American Revolution. It was meticulously 3D scanned with a Go!Scan 50 on February 23, 2018. Due to its delicate and conserved state, one side which rested against a flat surface remained unscanned.
