Betrayal at House on the Hill 3rd edition box organizer insert
thingiverse
I needed an in-box organizer for Betrayal and couldn't find one I really liked. So i made one and figured I'd share it here for anyone else that might need it. I also get annoyed with limited explanations included on some builds on here so I'm gonna go overboard there too. Everything in the set I made using Tinkercad, with the exception of the token holder set, which is heavily modified from the one MysticTome made over on Printables. This set is designed to fit everything from the base game, Widow's Walk and Blood on the Moon in the original game box, discarding the original plastic insert entirely. Everything fits in the box snugly and stays in place, with the books on top, if arranged as the photos suggest. The parts are as trimmed down and minimal as I could make them and are a bit thin at 2mm sides and bottom, but as long as you're not tossing them around it should be no problem. I was careful removing them from the bedplate after they were printed and had no issues. I skeletonized parts wherever possible to cut down on print time and material used. For infill, I used 20% "lines" in Cura with no problems, but the infill layer is less than 1mm for most parts, so use whatever you feel most comfortable with. The Token holder stack and lid have cutouts for magnets in the corners to hold the stack together, it works great, just make sure the poles of the magnets are facing the right way before you glue them in. I'll link the magnets I used down below. If you don't want to bother with the magnets, you won't need the "Token Holder Lid", get the "Token Holder Cover" instead, which slides over top and holds the stack together. The Lid and the Cover can be printed without supports if oriented correctly.I will post photos of my prints in use when I get around to it. I'm really impressed with how this came out and how snug everything fits in the box. Some parts can be glued together if you want but nothing REQUIRES glue unless you do the magnet setup for the token holder stack.Notes:The dice box has tabs on either side that are designed to assist in gluing to the character card holders on either side of it. Because of the tabs, the dice box requires support when printing. The other item requiring support is the "Token Holder Top", as the cutouts for the magnets on the bottom leave a 5mm gap.The Character card holders (Left and Right) are unique from one another so you need both. The Character Holder R also holds the character tokens and the trait bonus tokens from Widows Walk. The Room tile holder was too big to print in one go on my Ender 3, so it is in 2 pieces. Plenty of surface area to glue, but i haven't noticed a need to do so. Same with the minifig holders, which are symmetrical so just print it twice. If you're using the Token Holder Stack Cover, make sure you print it open side facing up so you won't need support. Same with the Token Holder Lid, make sure the holes for the magnets are facing up.Here's the magnets I used for the Token Holder Stack:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0936M3WPK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1It's my first time posting a design so please feel free to hit me up with any questions, comments or suggestions. Hope this helps someone!
