Beta95X Anti-jello dampers
prusaprinters
The Beta 95X from BetaFpv is a nice little whoop with DJI's digital video system using Caddx Vista. However, BetaFpv failed both with delivering an acceptable canopy and providing jello-free video. A better canopy design is already available here for printing with TPU: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4330877. But still the video has jello, so I designed simple dampers for soft-mounting the whole canopy and using its mass for stabilisation. The result is such as BetaFpv should have done prior to releasing the whoop, almost perfect now. See a test flight here: https://youtu.be/dLWOawUSZGo UPDATE FROM 12-01-2020: I have added an even more soft damper to try out. PRINTING: I had problems with getting a good print when slicing with Cura. Simplify3D did a much better job in this special case. Ensure the sliced model looks as shown in the Simplify3D screenshot. INSTALLATION: Although you could re-use the self-cutting canopy screws for attaching the dampers to the frame, I preferred to use metric screws and nuts instead. Drill the original canopy mounting holes completely through the whole frame with 1.8mm diameter. It's only few mm until the frame bottom. Mount the dampers to the frame by using M1.6x12 screws and washers and nuts at the bottom of the frame. Mount the canopy on top of the dampers using either M1.6x5 or M2x5 screws and nuts within the dampers.
