Precision Piezo presents - Titan Aero (or other similar extruder system) Piezo sensor plate. This is a beta release, and I have one working prototype that I'm eager to hear your feedback on. Please share any modifications you make. If you mount your Titan Aero (or other similar extruder design) directly via the motor screws, this plate allows you to use piezo z-probing. Print it in PLA or PETG - ABS may warp due to its tall and thin profile. Drill out the four holes that match a NEMA 17 motor pattern to 3.2mm. Mount between the motor and x-carriage/print head. Insert a 20mm piezo disc into the top, with a groove for the solder pads (assuming Murata 7BB series 20mm piezos - a reliable and known quantity). Tighten the screws holding the motor enough to ensure the motor and attached hotend is firm but not super tight, allowing for slight compliance to enable the piezo to function. My test setup has a quite firm nozzle with minimal movement when the nozzle touches the bed. Attach to a suitable amplifier circuit such as those available at http://www.precisionpiezo.co.uk. Probe away! Join the discussion here: http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?1,767998,787507,page=19#msg-787507. Or check out the video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/cPwi2WWcSV4
