The beta-2 adrenergic receptor (β2-adrenoreceptor) is a vital cell membrane-spanning beta-adrenergic receptor that directly interacts with epinephrine, a hormone and neurotransmitter known for its signaling role. This interaction stimulates adenylate cyclase through trimeric Gs proteins, increasing cAMP levels and triggering L-type calcium channel activation. The resulting downstream effects include smooth muscle relaxation and bronchodilation, key physiologic responses to the receptor's binding with epinephrine.
