A custom-designed lock nut is employed, with resin poured into holes post-installation to fill any gaps within the base. This ensures an airtight fastening and stops the nut from becoming dislodged. Such bolts are advantageous in curtainwall applications as they penetrate the vapour barrier; the resin prevents moisture from infiltrating along the thread, thereby preventing condensation on colder metal surfaces.
