Roberto Tiberio Barbarani, known as Berto, was an Italian poet born in 1872 and living until 1945. He authored numerous poems written in the Veronese dialect of Northern Italy. A bronze statue commemorating him can be found nestled at the edge of his cherished Piazza Erbe. The poet stands facing the square's center, gazing intently at the Madonna Verona statue that symbolizes the city he celebrated profusely in his poetry.
