Summary My take on The Salamander Dagger from Berserk manga. Saramanderu no tanken is one of the magical items given by Flora and Schierke to Guts and his team to help Schierke fight against trolls raiding Enoch Village. It's wielded by Isidro. This project is still a work in progress, with much to learn. Update: A sheath was added, but it turned out rough and will take ages to print. However, here it is. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: Creator Pro Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Infill: 5-25% Notes: The blade fits tightly into the guard, which may require sanding. The grip keys into the pommel, while the guard keys are loose and need glue to stay. This project was created using mold and cast techniques, allowing for a translucent lava color on the blade that can be recast in the future. A UV LED is planned for a future version, but this one isn't rigged for it yet. The large layer height used for printing makes it easy to sand and prime after completion. The blade prints fully on its side on my 6x6x9 bed, but will need to be cut down for smaller printers or scaled down by 5-10%. A scaled-down version of the blade is included in the project files. The current scale measures 14-3/4 inches (374.65mm) from blade tip to pommel and 4-3/4 inches (120.65mm) at its widest point. Post-Printing Light sanding on the base of the blade and inside guard is recommended. Sanding can help loosen up a tight fit between the parts. The grip should be wrapped with cord, leather strips, or even sports tape for added durability.
