This model is built using authentic data, ensuring a highly realistic portrayal of Bern's buildings and streets. Five groups of buildings have been established to offer flexibility in customizing appearance through varied colors, materials, or textures, each group capable of being turned on or off as needed. The UV mapping technique ensures seamless overlaps between building facets. Situated on a flat surface, all buildings lie level with the ground plane, lacking any elevation data. Polygonal geometry featuring both quads and tris has been used in creating this model. It remains untextured to maximize render speeds, making it well-suited for detailed scenes. Commercial use of this 3D model is permitted under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareALike 2.0 (CC-BY-SA) license. Its geometry is drawn from data generously provided by OpenStreetMap contributors at www.openstreetmap.org. The comprehensive specification includes: POINTS/VERTS: 754236 POLYGONS: 544838 It exports to several popular formats, including the native .c4d format and universally compatible versions such as .3ds,.fbx(v7.1), .dae (v1.5) ,and .obj. Detailed notes are added at the bottom of this page to address any questions that may arise due to model features or limitations. For instance, "streets" in the title doesn't refer to an individual 3D street element, but rather represents a blank area between the buildings within which they lie. Unlike some city/road networks referred to as XYZ (here again used merely as a place-holder name for your own real area), we have available specific detailed urban data including "streets", but where they can sometimes look slightly inaccurate. We appreciate users realizing that actual streets might not match what the models provide perfectly. Our updates to this and any similar 3D data often follow closely on these improvements - and you will enjoy the latest updated model in the package purchased here, regardless if it contains any or just small updates. It can also happen there could appear extra houses/areas because certain development schemes regarding town-planning could create those new buildings before actual ground-breaking. But you shouldn't panic because they are not something "out of time". As all urban-related projects which will need to complement them, our 3D models should provide some form of a compatible system of the same city (which may only differ at any particular place/point). Therefore when this compatibility doesn't seem right between your other project files, then all we'd love you to do is write us so that these compatibility fixes could follow soon - for usually it can even take place in no more than just an extra day after sending an email of that kind. If some time seems lost to be lost or you need them as quickly (regarding which city), do just feel free writing, your query can always end-up in the hands with us on the following 3D modeling request.
