Hector Berlioz was a French composer who made his mark on history with his bold Romantic compositions. His Symphonie fantastique is a work that continues to inspire musicians and music lovers alike. Berlioz's Grande messe des morts, or Requiem, showcases his unique style and mastery of the orchestra. He wrote extensively about orchestration in his Treatise on Instrumentation, laying the groundwork for modern symphonic scores. With massive ensembles at his command, Berlios conducted concerts that featured over 1,000 musicians, redefining the possibilities of classical music. Throughout his career, Berlioz composed around 50 songs that showcased his incredible range and skill. His influence can be seen in the work of many famous composers, including Richard Wagner, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Franz Liszt, and Gustav Mahler, among others. This object is part of a global project called Scan The World.
