Benzene molecule model

Benzene molecule model

thingiverse

This is a three-dimensional representation of benzene molecule, as evident from its ball-and-stick model. Carbon atoms (black) form chemical bonds through two connections. It was created using a gypsum powder printer at the Technical University of Berlin during a summer course. I designed it this way to better illustrate resonance and make it less fragile since thin models made with gypsum can easily break if not handled carefully. The size of each atom and the distance between them are based on chemistry bond theory. The scale used is approximately 250,000,000 : 1.
