Bento Box

Bento Box

thingiverse

This project is part of the Ice Box Challenge #IceboxChallenge https://firstbuild.com/mizellj/bento-box/ This simple, two-tier stacked bento box comes with included cutlery and dividers that allow you to adjust usable space in top and bottom box. The bottom box features a recess for accepting a shelf with inset places for included knife and fork. The design is still in progress; source files are provided. A final version ideally will be printed with a denser infill, adding customizable scad scripts allowing for adjusting final dimensions of the box. Photos of the finished piece will be online once parts are sanded and painted. All files are GNU - GPL, and users can do whatever they wish with this design as long as they also share source for recreations or derivatives, without attributing credit. This project includes instructions for printing and assembly. First, you need to print each part of the bento box, including top and bottom boxes, shelf, lid, fork with supports added, knife, and divider. You can do this with a 10% infill setting and a 0.3mm nozzle. Assemble the box by gluing the bento-foot part to the bottom of the bento-top-box, bent-bottom-box, and bento-lid parts, ensuring you properly center them as they serve as guides that keep top box and lid in place when stacked. You can use cyanoacrylate glue for this process. To customize this project, simply add additional boxes or use an elastic fabric band sewn together or a cloth ribbon to secure the set of boxes in place.
