Bennett Linkage
thingiverse
This is my first iteration of a 3D printable model of the Bennett linkage. The Bennet linkage is an overconstrained mechanism, consisting of four links connected by four revolute joints. My objective is to create a pre-assembled 3D printable model for generating complex deployable structures. I'm currently working on too many projects, so I encourage you to take this as a starting point to explore this interesting theme. I have uploaded an IGES version of the files for easy modifications. The Bennet linkage consists of four bars and four revolute joints. Its relationships allow it to unfold into a plane and fold back together with all the bars in parallel alignment. My goal is to create a pre-assembled model that easily enables the generation of complex deployable structures. I am publishing my initial work in the hopes that someone will find it interesting and contribute to its development.
