However, I modeled the spool holder myself to be used in conjunction with a Plano box.On my quest to create a dry box, I liked the appeal of using an ammo can to contain filament. Sealable, pre-made, easy to use. The problem is finding an ammo can big enough for an 8 inch spool. Plano makes one such box for ~$20, the "1612 Deep Water Resistant Field Box." I bought mine on Amazon, Walmart supposedly sells them as well, good luck finding it though. The file I have uploaded is a simple holder for a closet rod or pipe of 22.6mm in diameter or smaller. They have a curve on the bottom to sit in the groove along the inside wall of the box, I held mine to the side with tape for convenience. Print two holders and cut your rod at 6.75 inches long. It will span the width of the box and sit on the holder, allowing you to put your spool on the rod and simply drop it in. Most standard 8" spools will have just a couple millimeters clearance from the bottom, that is all they need to spin freely. At least one 1kg spool fits inside, it should fit a second spool at .5kg. My Carbon fiber spool (What I designed this for) is thin enough to fit alongside, but I have yet to test two spools in action at the same time. I used pneumatic connectors and a bowden tube to run the filament out of the box, but that much is up to you.
