The CAD model and FE analysis utilized SolidWorks and ANSYS for a sheet metal bending process of an aluminum 2023-T3 material, sized at 180mm x 50mm with a 80° angle and a side angle of 50°. The material analysis was non-linear, providing true stress and strain data in the report. From FEA results, the required strength to bend the sheet was 35.342 KN or 7945.2 lbf, with a maximum stress of approximately 405 Mpa. This stress is below the 414 Mpa maximum stress from the plastic zone.
