Bender Head Side Filament Guide for Prusa Mk2
thingiverse
A custom "Bender" head filament guide designed specifically for side feeding filament on an Original Prusa MK2 printer. The guide fits snugly into a unique hexagon hole located on the top of the Z Axis's top bracket, ensuring a secure and reliable print experience. Adding some flair to your MK2 with this innovative guide is easy. Printing from the side of your Prusa can be intimidating, especially when working with new spools. To avoid any issues, I created this filament guide to sit firmly in the open hexagon without interfering with the Z Axis's travel. If you're using a Prusa i3 Mk2 printer like mine, please note that the hexagon on the right Z axis top bracket is slightly larger than its counterpart on the left. This might require some minor adjustments to ensure a perfect fit for your MK2. However, this guide is designed to sit firmly in place without compromising the printer's functionality. Here are my print settings: Printer: Prusa i3 Mk2 Rafts: Doesn't matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .2 Infill: 0-50% When printing, I recommend using supports in the top hole to prevent any sharp edges from forming. You can also experiment with different infill levels and resolutions to find your optimal settings. Post-printing tips: * Ensure that the guide hole is free from burs or debris that could catch or damage your filaments. * If the hexagon doesn't fit perfectly, simply trim the bottom edges for a tight fit. I designed this custom filament guide using Remix and Fusion 360 Plus MeshMixer.
